“Midnight Mojo kicked out a full set of blues originals and classic covers, with lots of heart and energy, making great music and good vibes in an intimate venue. The band was both tight and spontaneous, with a flowing ease that comes from years of practice and love of the music. The guys of Midnight Mojo have so much fun it’s infectious! Go get a dose of Mojo - and don’t wait till Midnight! “….Dave Fertig, ElmTree Blues Society
Midnight Mojo plays the blues. Rooted in Chicago style, flavored with Texas and West Coast spice and just a pinch of Rock ‘n roll, Midnight Mojo’s music is a stew that’s hot and satisfying. The band’s tight driving performances, dynamic vocals, searing instrumentals and overall musicality adds up to a night of dancing, drinking and generally having a good damn time.
The band has played in and around LA for the past three years at clubs, private parties and public events. Each of the five musicians has more than 25 years on their respective instruments and in various bands. The group brings their well-honed skills to every gig with a fierce and focused intensity.
The band’s influences and covers come from the likes of Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, Billy Boy Arnold, Paul Butterfield, Freddie King, Sonny Boy Williamson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, Johnny Winters, Little Walter and Buddy Guy to name a few. Their set list also includes some rock tunes by The Allman Brothers, Credence Clearwater and Eric Clapton. Strewn throughout the evening are 10 or so original blues and blues/rock treasures that showcase their unique creativity.
